It’s been roughly a month since I launched this Substack and The Upside Podcast and I thought it might be a good time to give a personal update🌻
First of all, if you’re reading this, you are a subscriber. THANK YOU for joining this crazy journey with me and for all the support you’ve given.
Some of you have left very encouraging DMs in my inbox, others snapped up a paid subscription even before I launched a single thing(!!) It’s a massive validation to this product even while it’s clearly still in the stages of infancy.
Over the past month, I have:
Published 17 stories, Q&A interviews and weekly newsletters
Produced 2 podcast episodes
Built a small but steadily growing subscriber base, majority on Substack!
Who is this subscriber base exactly?
All of you are what I call — VC/tech ecosystem builders.
I see a good mix of venture capitalists and investors, tech entrepreneurs, lawyers, bankers, analysts, consultants, business development execs, PR/media folks and even students. Most of you are from Singapore, Indonesia, Southeast Asia, South Asia and MENAP regions.
I believe there is plenty of room for a fresh and independent voice on investing and building in emerging markets, whether it’s Southeast Asia, MENA, sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe or LATAM.
There is a TON of work to do, and I’m very excited to keep executing and seeing where it takes all of us! Stay tuned ;)
